This year we are screening 50 films from around the globe! These selections including music videos, feature-length films, documentaries, and many short films.

Prometheus operates on it’s own yearly budget, and we are seeking cash sponsors whose donations will make this event a success. Last year, after covering costs, we were able to hand the profits from the event over to York Little Theatre, making us a successful first-year fund-raising effort for this local arts non-profit that has been serving the community since 1933.

This year, we are again looking for sponsors to help us generate the budget that will cover equipment, printed materials, and awards. Many of our sponsors from last year have gotten involved again this year, to make sure they get their message in front of our audiences again. Welcome to the Prometheus Film Festival!

We are now accepting submissions for the 2011 festival, scheduled for August 19 and 20 at our host venue, the York Little Theatre.

We are a festival organized by filmmakers for filmmakers, intended to showcase the talent and dedication of the many artists working in the independent film industry in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

This year we are working as a Partner Festival through with Without a Box, accepting submissions through their online system. 2011 will see changes and growth for Prometheus and as we incorporate additional venues and sponsors. We will keep you posted through this site, so check back for the schedule of events, sneak previews of films, and updates on last years winners.
